Red Cross urges fonors to keep on giving blood |
Description |
Thanks to donors, the blood shortage in Connecticut is no longer a the critical level it reached last month. The Red Cross, however, is still urging residents to keep donating. "We're not at emergency levels, but we're definitely not where we want to be" said Andrew Sindell, director of volunteer resources and blood support with the Greenwich chapter of the American Red Cross. The Red Cross sent out a two-week appeal July 25 for blood donors to give 6,500 units. While that number was reached, Sindell noted that it was only a short-term goal that needs to be built upon |
