When it comes to campaign debates, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dannel Malloy, who is facing a primary challenge from Ned Lamont, of Greenwich, wants his opponent to heed his own words from the 2006 U.S. Senate bid. Malloy on Tuesday, as part of an ongoing effort to pressure his fellow Democrat to participate in 17 debates, circulated a 4-year-old YouTube video of Lamont issuing a similar challenge to U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman of Stamford. "Let's go around the state and have some old-fashioned, kitchen table debates" Lamont eagerly told some bloggers at the time, when he was the relative unknown taking on the veteran Lieberman.
