Byram resident digs raking for clams at Greenwich Point |
Description |
Five years ago when Betty Shopovick took up clamming, the tasty shellfish proved elusive and there were just not that many to be had. Clamming was a sport that took a lot of time and offered little reward. But Shopovick, a Byram resident, stuck with it and now, she says with a smile, there are a lot more clams. Shopovick was at Greenwich Point recently, hsppily digging in the sand. This day's bounty of bivalves was soon to become a Manhattan clam chowder |
